Hello! I'm Lleucu - welcome to my website. I'm a Welsh illustrator currently based in beautiful Macedonia, where I live with my husband, our dogs and two bunnies. My work is inspired by a childhood growing up in the mountains of North Wales, and the love for nature, folklore, travel and languages this fostered. My one true love is illustrating children's books, but I also love to create work through different mediums such as animation, papercut, printmaking and mural work. In 2019 I graduated from the University of South Wales with a 1st Class Degree in Illustration, then spent the next few months working as a language assistant in Corsica. In April 2020 I took the plunge and became a full-time illustrator, and haven't stopped since.

Notables:
In 2018 was awarded a scholarship that allowed me to travel to Chubut, Argentina to run 11 illustration workshops on the theme of the Mabinogi (a collection of medieval Welsh Folklore). The project was undertaken as part of a cultural exchange between the towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog (Wales) and Rawson (Argentina). Since graduating I've illustrated six children's books, including "Deg o Chwedlau Dyffryn Conwy" (Ten legends from the Conwy Valley) by Myrddin ap Dafydd, the series "Gwyliau Gwirion Cwm Cawdel" by Gwennan Evans, and in 2021 my first author-illustrator children's book, "Chwedl Calaffate" was published.
I am always happy to discuss new projects, and can be contacted here.
