Hello, I'm Lleucu - I'm a freelance illustrator currently based in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales. I specialize in Children's illustration, papercut design and animation. My work is inspired by a love for nature, folklore, travel and languages, and is heavily influenced by my Welsh heritage.

I graduated from the University of South Wales with a 1st Class Degree in BA (hons) Illustration in July 2019, then spent the next few months working as a language assistant in Corsica and illustrating part-time. In March 2020 I took the plunge and became a full-time illustrator, and haven't stopped since.

In 2018 was awarded a scholarship that allowed me to travel to Chubut, Argentina to run 11 illustration workshops on the theme of the Mabinogi (a collection of medieval Welsh Folklore). The project was undertaken as part of a cultural exchange between the towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog (Wales) and Rawson (Argentina).

During my final year of university I Illustrated the book "Deg o Chwedlau Dyffryn Conwy" (Ten legends from the Conwy Valley)  by Myrddin ap Dafydd, published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch in August 2019. In 2020 I illustrated the book "Gwyliau Gwirion Cwm Cawdel" by Gwennan Evans, published in September 2020 by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch. My first author-illustrator children's book, Chwedl Calaffate, is due to be published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch in Spring 2021.
